Preparing for Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Aconcagua, Denali, Vinson, Everest or another high altitude objective?

Reaching a major summit starts long before you arrive at the mountain.
The MounTurtle Seven Summits Training Program is a specialized mountain preparation pathway designed to help you understand what your mountain will demand and progressively prepare your body, mind, skills and equipment for the journey ahead.
Led by Everest and Seven Summits mountaineer Dr. Joyce Azzam.
Get Mountain Ready. Slowly IS Surely.

PREPARE FOR YOUR MOUNTAIN

More Than Physical Training
High altitude mountaineering requires much more than fitness.
You need endurance and strength, but you also need to understand how your body responds to long days, difficult terrain, altitude, cold, fatigue and uncertainty.
You need to know your equipment.
You need to understand nutrition and recovery.
You need technical skills appropriate to your mountain.
And you need the confidence that comes from knowing you have prepared well.
The Seven Summits Training Program brings these elements together into a structured preparation journey built around you and your mountain.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This program is designed for hikers and mountaineers preparing for a significant mountain objective, including:

You do not need to be completing all Seven Summits.
Your preparation is shaped around your specific mountain, your current fitness, your previous experience and the time available before your expedition.

YOUR TRAINING JOURNEY

Physical Preparation

Build the strength, endurance, stability and movement capacity required for long days in the mountains. Training can include strength and conditioning, cardiovascular endurance, stairs and incline work, sand training, loaded carries and mountain specific movement.

Mountain Training

Take your preparation beyond the gym. Guided training hikes allow you to practise pacing, endurance, hydration, nutrition, equipment use and moving efficiently over mountain terrain. Technical Preparation For mountains requiring snow and Alpine skills, technical sessions can introduce and develop skills such as crampon use, ice axe technique and movement in snow. Technical preparation is adapted to the requirements of your objective.

Mental Strength

Mountains challenge the mind as much as the body. Learn practical tools for managing fear, uncertainty, fatigue and difficult moments while developing focus, patience and confidence in your preparation.

Nutrition & Recovery

Understand how to fuel your training and mountain days, support recovery and prepare for the nutritional demands of longer and higher altitude objectives.

Equipment & Expedition Preparation

Know what you need before you arrive at the mountain. We help you understand your equipment, layering system, footwear, backpack and expedition essentials so that you can prepare, test and become familiar with your kit before departure.

TRAIN FOR THE REALITY OF THE MOUNTAIN

Depending on your objective and training pathway, your preparation may include:

The goal is not simply to make you fitter. The goal is to make you mountain ready.

A PROGRAM BUILT AROUND YOUR MOUNTAIN

No two mountains are the same. Training for Kilimanjaro is different from preparing for Elbrus. Elbrus is different from Aconcagua. And preparing for Denali or Everest introduces another level of physical, technical and expedition demands. For this reason, your journey begins by understanding:

From there, we can recommend the most appropriate preparation pathway.

NOT SURE WHERE TO START?

You may already know the mountain you want to climb but have no idea whether you are physically ready. That is exactly where the conversation can begin. Book a 15 minute call with Joyce to discuss your mountain, your experience and where you are today. Together, we can identify the preparation you need and the most appropriate way to begin.

TRAIN WITH DR. JOYCE AZZAM

Experience Brought Back From the Mountains
Dr. Joyce Azzam is the first Lebanese woman and among the first three Arab women to complete the Seven Summits, including Mount Everest.
Over nearly two decades in the mountains, she has climbed more than 30 major mountains across all seven continents.
But her own journey did not begin with exceptional physical ability.
Joyce began training as a teenager while managing hypermobility and unstable knees. Through years of progressive training, coaching and mountain experience, she learned firsthand how preparation, knowledge, patience and the right support can transform what initially feels out of reach.
That philosophy became the foundation of MounTurtle.
Slowly IS Surely.
Today, Joyce brings what the mountains have taught her back to people preparing for their own summits.
